What is Early WUN?

Early WUN is a dedicated sub-network of WUN, designed to support women at the earliest stages of their careers within the sector. It provides targeted, practical support to help women build confidence, skills, networks, and a sense of belonging during the critical first years of their professional journey in the Utilities Sector. Designed for those that are:

  • In the first 5 years of their utilities careers
  • New to the sector, including career changes
  • Entry-level, apprenticeship, graduate or junior roles
  • Seeking peer connection, practical guidance, and early leadership development
  • Individuals interested in exploring the sector beyond their own organisation and building wider professional connections

Why Early WUN?

  • To support entry into the sector for women at a time when the sector needs to attract new and diverse talent.
  • Build confidence and support longevity of women’s careers in the sector.
  • To support women navigating their early roles and encourage and grow leadership.
  • To provide a support system outside of their organisation to get help and offer a ‘safe space’.
  • To provide specific targeted help and intervention for a key demographic that is underrepresented in WUN membership.
