5 years on.
It’s 5 years ago this week that we held our first WUN event. We were at the Stanley building behind Kings Cross Station and we had around 35 people join us for that inaugural event. I don’t think any of us could have foreseen how WUN would have grown and how we have adapted and evolved over the last 5 years. We started with quarterly events and quickly followed with a free mentoring service; we moved to virtual events during Covid branded ‘WUN4ALL’ which are still hugely popular with our members and frequently registering over 100 people in attendance. In 2021 we launched our podcast channel with regular posts and over 2000 listens.
We got together as a team to reflect on the journey we have had and the challenges and ambitions for 2023. It was so lovely to meet in person as the WUN team are scattered across the UK
As founders, board and advocates we are not only passionate about the industry we work in, but also passionate about the contribution women were making and will continue to make in the future – here’s to another 5 years!
Our purpose remains the same-
Connecting women within the utilities sector.
To build the right networks, access the right development and take control of their work lives
at whichever stage of their career they are at.
