Mentoring

WUN offers mentoring to women at any stage of their career in the utilities sector and that are WUN members. Our Mentors have a range of skills and experience that they can share.

Mentoring is centred on continuous improvement and is all about you building a relationship with someone.  The mentor | mentee relationship is around helping the mentee develop and build on where they are, where they want to be, or to help with specific personal development needs.

A mentor is someone with an experienced view or specific capabilities who can guide and support an individual with less experience (the mentee).  The focus of the mentoring relationship is to support the development and growth of the mentee.

Studies have shown that mentoring is a signification factor in improving morale and retention.  When an organisation supports their employees in a mentorship programme, they are enabling positive growth.

The time commitment is 10-12 hours over 12 months.  This works out as approximately 1 meeting every 6-8 weeks.  You and your mentee can decide on a schedule that suits your goals for the partnership and your availability.
