Areas of Expertise

I feel that I would like to mentor and support someone that is new into the industry, to explore what current challenges that they are facing, their goals and aspirations & through discussion help them to explore & find creative solutions to meet their needs. Either through my own knowledge and expertise or through my extensive personal and professional network of colleagues working within the energy and utility industries.

Career

I am a natural communicator with solid influencing skills, with 20+ years of experience in the training and skills arena and an accomplished business development background. I am a strategic and innovative thinker with a genuine commitment and passion for education, skills workforce capability and competence.

My current job function is a Client Manager working within our key clients organisations across the Energy and Utilities Sector mainly Gas, Power, Water. Energy and Utility Skills ( EUS) is a non for profit membership organisation in which we help our members/clients attract new talent, develop their workforces and assure a high level of competence across their business.

Energy & Utility Skills works to ensure that the members that we work with have the skills they need now and in the future. My roles for EUS have all been national and client facing.  I work with clients by using a consultative selling approach to establish their key challenges and how we can help them through our portfolio of products & services either through their existing membership/account plan (and their ROI) or on a commercial, bespoke basis. I am currently working on the BEIS smart metering roll out and all that comes with it, working with key energy suppliers and meter operators within our current client base and more.

Why I Became a Mentor

When I joined Energy and Utility Skills six year ago, I noticed that most of my clients & colleagues are men of a certain age.  I am fully supportive of WUN and what it has set out to achieve and would like to offer my help/ support to anybody new that might also be experiencing the same resistance to change/ mind-set that I did.
