Career
I have worked in the Utilities Training industry for almost 7 years now. I began working part time as a student as a Training Co-Ordinator, and upon completing my studies with a BA(Hons) Classical Studies with English (King’s College London) & a Graduate Diploma in Law (BPP Law School). I accepted a full time role at UCT. Currently I am the Quality Manager for the whole business, and Training Manager for London and the South East. Within this role I oversee all operations in London and the South East, involving client relations, operations, running our London training center and managing other staff. Within my role as Quality Manager, I oversee and manage all quality systems across the business, with a particular focus on our Apprenticeship schemes. I keep systems up to date, and make sure everything we deliver is to the highest possible standards for industry and OFSTED. I also deliver Level 1 and 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English.
Why I Became a Mentor
I’d love to share my experiences of working in this industry and to help inspire other women. I want to help to close the gender gap in the utilities industry, particularly the gap seen in management and more senior positions. I am passionate about helping to make an impact, on both individuals lives and on the industry as a whole. I wish I’d had access to a scheme like this when first starting out, I’m eager to help other women to succeed!
