Career

Currently working at Green Star Energy as a Senior Relationship and Channel Manager, where I manage major residential telesales and digital channels, some of which I have helped to implement. Myself and my team work alongside them to help with training, coaching, compliance, product knowledge and new routes to market. It’s also part of my remit to implement new processes and procedures around all elements of the sales process and the customer journey outside of the sales arena. Working closely with the compliance, operational and customer services teams. I have assisted in the implementation of new sales channels and setting those up too. There is also an element of business development within this role, working within the UK but also alongside our US team to implement new strategic sales channels. I also work alongside the Commercial Team at Hudson Energy where required. I take on new challenges regularly and push myself and my team to challenge themselves, and not accept the status quo, to look at different ways of achieving things – just because something has always been done in a particular way doesn’t mean we cannot question it. Improvements come from initial discussions – this is key in the way I manage the partner channels too.

Previously to this I have worked at Corona Energy for 6 years, in a variety of roles, the last of which was managing the SME Sales, renewals and admin teams. Additionally, I managed the Field Based Relationship Managers. Looking after the physical management of the team, and where required implementing performance improvement plans or personal development plans. Also to understand and report on the P&L Position, presenting as numerous company events, and managing Key Relationships internally and externally.

For the previous 11 years I worked for various brokers looking at procurement, bill validation and bureau services.

Why I Became a Mentor

I feel that I have benefitted especially in the last few years from working for and alongside some fantastic women within our industry, and I have been fortunate to experience real personal growth from this and also be able to progress my career significantly within this period. I think it’s really important to pay this forward, and be able to support someone the way I have been supported. I am a confident woman (this is one of the first things people say to me) but it hasn’t always been that way and if I can help someone else to become more confident in themselves and their abilities then this would be an amazing thing to do.
